The Milky Way galaxy :/ !

Hello everybody!

Yesterday Webber class learned about the Milky Way galaxy. We went on our class site, clicked on term 2, clicked week 2 and on the slide will be about the Milky Way! We also watched a video about all kinds of things in the Milky Way. Did you know the Milky way has over 2 billion stars? Once we were done finding the right page we had to choose between a slideshow, poster or a word document. I chose a poster. So when I got ready and seated I went straight onto Google Drive, clicked new, clicked more then went onto Google Drawings. I then named my poster and moved my work into the right folder by clicking on this folder symbol on the top left of your screen that has a little barrow in it. Then I started my work. I didn’t worry about the background that time so I just got started. We had to write 5 facts or more about the Milky Way, write down the questions our Teacher Mrs Patel asked us with the answer. Then we had a Q&A with Julianne Dalcanton. If you would like to see my poster scroll down.

What’s your favourite galaxy? My favourite galaxy is the Black Eye galaxy, why? have a look at my work! Hope you enjoyed my work. Thank you for your time!

Orewa Beach Trip!

Hello Everyone,

Last week Wednesday 27th of March 2024 HayPark Senior classes went on a trip to Orewa Beach. The instructors Toby and Ismara welcomed us and gave us instructions to follow as we are on the trip. It was a 45-50 minute drive to our destination and back. It was a really sunny and hot day that when I got home I hopped in the shower and when I got out I went straight to sleep. I want to thank the staff members for preparing this trip for us and a thank you to Toby and Ismara. Here is the full story about the Orewa Beach Trip! I would share my Google Doc but I will also copy and paste my work onto this blog post. Thank you for your time!

Story:

The start of the day:

On 27th of March 2024 HayPark Senior classes went to Orewa Beach for a surf trip. Our teacher Mrs Patel told us the day before our trip that we had to bring a hat, swimming togs, covered shoes, sandals, water bottle, enough lunch and a jumper or jacket. Some students from my classroom got split up, half of my class went with room 6 (Mr Albert) and the other half went with room 8 (Miss Mackenzie). When everyone was in the hall waiting for the buses, Miss Alano and Miss Campbell had a talk with all of us before leaving. The drive to our destination was about 45-50 minutes.

Middle of the day:

When we arrived we all lined up outside the bus, walked all the way to the beach that wasn’t that far. We all got seated and Ismara and Toby gave us instructions. We also got into groups of our classes. Room 6 was with Mr Morris, room 8 was with Toby and room 9 was with Mrs Patel. We played Capture The Flag, and we also got to swim after the game. Next we surfed with Toby and Ismara. The first step was to get changed in our swimsuits. We then practised on the sand with the surf boards. Then we were ready to go. I was having fun until one of my classmates hit my front tooth with the nose of their surfboard. Afterwards, I took a quick shower and got changed. My next group with my class was Mr Morris, Mr Morris let us have lunch before we were ready to go. We were meant to play games like infinity tag or octopus but we ended up going to the park. It was so fun until we had to walk back and pack up.

How to play capture the flag:

To play Capture the flag you will get put into groups. When all the preparing the game and teams are finished you’ll lay down on the floor behind the line and put your hands behind your back. When the adult says “Go” then you will get up as fast as you can and run all the way to your target, your target is a stick or anything that will be dug into the ground. The whole point of the game is to get the object thats across from where you are. My class played it on the sand and we used cut up pieces of a hose because we didn’t have flags. The rules are simple, play fair and no cheating. It depends on how many groups of teams there are. We had 5 groups and 5 sticks. We had to run across to grab the stick. It would be easy the first couple rounds until 1 stick gets removed, the whole point of removing a stick is, whoever doesn’t have a stick in their hand after running they will be eliminated from the game. At the end of the game there was only 1 hose and 2 people. The people who were racing were my friend Vienna and this boy in our class room. Vienna won by the way 🙂

End of the day:

Finally it was time to go back to school. Before we left the staff members from our school were yelling out to everyone whose clothing is whose because some students forgot their t-shirt or are wearing someone else’s along with hats, socks, jumpers and bags. When that was sorted we lined up and walked to our buses. By the time we got back to school the bell rang. I got picked up by my mum and went home 🙂

Creative Writing

Malo E Lelei,

This week Andrews Class had to do creative writing. We could do our writing about anything but we had to make sure it was a non-fiction story. We had to include a setting, a beginning, a middle, and a end. We also had to include characters. We made sure to include when, where, what, who, why, and how. I made sure I added a problem. I added punctuations, spelling, and good adjectives. My characters I used is Loiloi, Crystal, Renesmee, Blane, Sariyah, Layla and Khadeeja.

The hardest part was trying to think of what my story should be about.

The easiest part was writing the story.

The part I enjoyed most was thinking of what characters I should use.

Click here to see my story I made. I also made a plan. Have you ever done creative writing? Thank you for visiting my blog!

Auto Draw

Talofa Lava Bloggers,

Today room 9 did an activitie with AutoDraw. If you don’t know what AutoDraw is then it’s a app that you can easily find on Google. And you will end up on this page that says “start drawing” then you click on that then you will have to draw something like a animal or anything you like or want, then AutoDraw will have to guess what you were drawing. Here is what I drawed!

The most part I struggled with was trying to think of how to work the app.

The most part I had fun with was drawing.

Do you know what the app AutoDraw is?

What is Media?

Malo E Lelei,

For Cybersmart we had to go on Google slides. We had to complete some slides and choose what medias we have consumed and created. We also had to do a survey about what types of media we consumed during the week. Then next we had to make a way to put all the results of the survery. We could either use Word Art, a Google Drawing, or use Google Sheets. I used Word art.

The hardest part was trying to sort out the types of media.

The eaisest part was doing the survey.

The part I enjoyed most was also doing the survey.

Here is the presentation.

Here is the word art I made!

Thannk you for visiting my blog! Have you ever used Word Art? Have a good day!

Week 2

Kia Ora!

This week for Cybersmart we had to do a Scratch project. We had to think of different medias we use. We had the choice to pick what spirit we wanted and a background we wanted.

The hardest part was trying to find spirits to use because there wasn’t much choices.

The easiest part was finding a background.

The part I enjoyed most was trying out my project.

Here is my Scratch project! Hope you like it. I don’t have much experience, thank you for visiting my blog!

Making choices slides.

Malo E Lelei Bloggers,

Today my class and I did Referedum. We had to think of eight ideas for our slides and also for Referedum. We also learnt about the meaning of “Referendum”. The meaning of Referendum is when someone wants something to be changed. We used Google Slides and put down our eight Referendums. We also had to tick down some boxes to see if we agreed or disagreed. We had to complete slide 7.

The hardest part was trying to write down the different referendums.

The most easy part was doing the ticks.

The funnest part was also doing the ticks.

Here is my Google Slide presentation. Do you know what referendum means? Thank you for visiting my blog!

Fun Blog Battle!!!

Bula Vanaka Bloggers,

Today for cybersmart we had to buddy up and do a blog battle with our buddy. We also had to add points together. We had to screennshot and insert images into the table. Every screenshot would either make your buddy lose points or get more points.

The hardest part was screenshotting.

The funnest part was adding the points.

Here is mine. Click the image have a look at my doc. Enjoy!

FUN DANCE LESSON’S!!!

Namaste bloggers,

In week 5, room 9 went to a dance lesson with Milli but it was our last lesson.

Before we got started we got told to take off our shoes and socks incase we slip or hurt ourselves. We had to get in a big circle to do some stretches, Milli was playing a song and showing us what to do. We did diffrent type of stretches like moving our shoulders round and round in a circle and many more. Next we had to go to the back of the hall and line up, Milli told us to do side skips, normal skiping and many more we also got to do a freestyle walk. Then we had to buddy up with someone to do a dance, but not a normal dance your buddy had to do a dance move and you had to copy, its called the miror game.

To learn the dance Milli was on the stage teaching us some moves to go with the song Levitating. Once we got all the moves we all had a go with our buddy and then we got put into groups. After we all had a turn at the dance with all the moves we got to take a photo with Milli. We all had so much fun with Milli, she is a kind, pretty lady who teached us. I still kind of remember the dance but I hope I see her again!
